The following 4‑H members received funding in 2022 based on grant proposals they submitted to the Indiana 4‑H Foundation:
Gabriel Ballard, Porter County
Grant Award: $500
The Discovery Trackers Community Garden project will create and open a community garden to provide food for those who do not have access to reliable food sources.
Gabi Boerner, Posey County
Grant Award: $1,000
The Fashion Forward project will provide new back-to-school clothes for six elementary school students in need.
Zepha Caldwell, Monroe and Owen Counties
Grant Award: $1,000
Crazy Clovers 4‑H Club – My Happy Place Gardens is a project to create up to ten new garden beds in addition to the existing garden beds.
Chesnay Cole, Parke County
Grant Award: $1,000
The Parke County Supermarket Sweep project funded by the YES Grant will benefit local food pantries. Participants will hold team competitions.
Kaci Davis, Washington County
Grant Award: $1,000
The Boston Blazers 4‑H Club will fill two dozen diaper bags (12 for girls and 12 for boys) for the Choices for Life Resource Center.
Charlie English, Vanderburgh County
Grant Award: $1,000
The Homegrown Southern Indiana Story Time project is centered around a display at the county fair involving reading books about soybeans and providing a soybean activity.
Emily English, Vanderburgh County
Grant Award: $1,000
The Back Pack to School Project will help buy backpacks, paper, pens and other supplies to donate to children in the Boys & Girls Club programs.
Justin French, Perry County
Grant Award: $965
This project is designed to help donate clothes to Isaiah House 117, a transitional home for children in foster care.
Zachary Geleott, Jasper County
Grant Award: $1,000
Parr Panthers – Mental Health Awareness is a project to bringing mental health speakers to local schools and the YES Grant will fund special bags about coping skills.
Jackson Howard, Vermillion County
Grant Award: $1,000
The Clever Clovers Clean Up project aims to freshen up the recycling and garbage disposal areas at the Vermillion County fairgrounds. The group plans to implement community clean up days for a long-term solution.
Carly McCashland, Union County
Grant Award: $600
Ayla’s Closet at College Corner Union School is a project to create a shoe closet to provide shoes for young people in need. The project in memory of a young girl who loved shoes.
Cecilia Mundy, Perry County
Grant Award: $1,000
The Perry County Jr. Leaders Bulldog & Commodore Closet project will implement a program in local junior and senior high schools that will provide essential supplies (such as socks, underwear, and personal toiletries) to students in need.
Rain Newman, Owen County
Grant Award: $1,000
4‑H Fishing Team Literacy Made Fun will establish a reading program where 4‑Hers spend one-on-one time reading out loud to daycare children.
Samantha Overbay, Putnam County
Grant Award: $1,000
Putnam County 4‑H Junior Leaders Supermarket Sweep will use the YES Grant for contests for gift cards which will then be used to shop for food to donate to local food pantries.
Kendric Personett, Cass County
Grant Award: $1,000
The Cass County 4‑H Jr. Leaders – Community Gardens Refurbish Project will replace garden beds at the Cass County Fairgrounds. The project aims to raise quality produce to feed the community, beautify the fairgrounds, and instill a sense of local pride.
Alice Pickett, Hamilton County
Grant Award: $1,000
The Lost Arts Club will continue their project, using their grant award to donate socks, hats, underwear and blankets to donate to the Helping Veterans and Families Indianapolis Veteran Homeless Shelter.
Sawyer Scheid, Monroe County (pictured)
Grant Award: $450
The Insect Biodiversity of Monroe Lake project will complete research on insect biodiversity at Monroe Lake to present to the community through awareness events.
Abigail Stallings, Warrick County
Grant Award: $1,000
This project funded by the YES Grant will challenge clubs to make lap tip blankets for local nursing home residents.
Emma Stricker, Clark County
Grant Award: $972.50
Clark County Junior Leaders – Homeless Care Packages will provide unhoused people with basic supplies they need for everyday living.
Grant Thorne, Lawrence County
Grant Award: $1,000
The project Sittin’ with Spurs will focus on purchasing a small section of the community bleachers to place around the horse and pony area.
Sanjana Veeraraghavan, Warrick County
Grant Award: $600
Friends for Fidgets is a project to provide autism centers with fidget toy kits to help patients with autism.
Olivia Williams, Madison County
Grant Award: $1,000
Madison County 4‑H Junior Leaders will build an accessible shelter at the county fairgrounds for use by those with mobility impairments, strollers, and those simply needing shelter from the sun and rain.
Anzie Wiseman, Marion County
Grant Award: $1,000
People in need who visit the Emmaus-Lutheran Food Pantry will benefit from this project funded by a YES Grant. Youth Club members will supply 50 school backpacks and 50 personal health care kits.
Katie Wood, Owen County
Grant Award: $1,000
This project funded by the YES Grant will enhance and beautify the Patricksburg Volunteer Fire Department’s landscaping and signage, benefitting the entire community.
