An Owen County YES Grants project was featured in the Sept. 1, 2023, issue of Indiana AGRINEWS!
The Willing Workers 4‑H Club in Owen County received a $1,000 Youth Engaged Service (YES) Grant from the Indiana 4‑H Foundation to support Horse Angels, Inc., a local facility that rescues horses and gives horse riding lessons to 4‑Hers. With the grant, the club was able to donate horse stall mats, Max E-Glo feed for older horses who have trouble keeping weight on, and grooming accessories like brushes, mane detanglers and combs, hoof picks, and saddle pads. The club members and their families also spent time cleaning horse stalls and grooming and loving on the horses.
